My name is Caroline. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2019, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Fashion Retailing. I am a former Alabama Coed Cheerleader and member of Alpha Phi Beta Mu. I grew up outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee.  After college my career brought to Birmingham, Alabama for a few years.  I currently live and work for my dream company in my favorite city - Nashville, Tennessee.

Hello.

My WORK Experience

As a Visual Merchandiser I implemented directives throughout the store including fixtures, floor changes, dressing mannequins, forms, signs, and collateral. Areas included: kids, juniors, women’s, men’s, home, intimate apparel, fragrance and accessories.

As a Production Assistant I got to see the retail industry from the vendor perspective. My main role was pulling, tagging, and lining up the dresses for the fashion shows.

My internship gave me a great insight into the Buying and E-Commerce side of a small business. I entered products into the system and published items to Shopify. I attended market, vendor meetings, reviewed linesheets and lookbooks, analyzed sales and kept track of the monthly budgets for both stores. I was able to explore my creativity while creating content for social media and photographing models for monthly Graffiti advertisements that were featured on throughout Nashville.

As an Assistant Buyer I learned all of the ins and outs of buying for over 900 stores in 35 states.  The majority of my time in this role was spent preparing and entering purchase orders, updating/tracking orders, and price changes.  I created a digital catalog of samples and items purchased to help the marketing, buying, and visual teams.  I was also responsible for working with the buying and marketing team to get samples and outfits together for the seasonal photoshoots.

As an Assortment Planner I was responsible for analyzing historical data to make decisions and develop a merchandise assortment that aligns with the financial plans to maximize sales and profits. The goal is to create a presentation that offers enough selection for the customer without overstocking and creating the right balance between the number of styles and the depth of each style.  I was also responsible for identifying growth and new business opportunities in my areas.

In my current role as a Retail Sales & Merchandise Manager I am responsible for buying and product development for our 3 brick-and-mortar locations and 2 brands. Some of my other responsibilities include: product allocation, selling analysis, assortment planning, merchandising, managing the website, social media, marketing, and events.
