Coaster Collection

In 2018, I picked up a few paper coasters in Nashville. I specifically remember having the one from Old Glory and the Bobby Hotel. I started using them around the house and quickly realized how much I loved having little souvenirs from my favorite places.

When I moved to Birmingham in 2019, I began noticing them at my favorite bars. My roommate and I started to collect those and we used them around the house. Over the years, the collection has expanded to around 40 coasters. I never go out of my way to look for them, but I’m always paying attention. Whether I’m traveling or home in Nashville, I’ll grab one when it catches my eye.

After I realized I had more than enough coasters for my coffee and side tables, I found a new way to enjoy them every day by tucking my favorites under my glass vanity. I love that I get to see them every day while I get ready. It’s a small reminder of places I’ve been and time spent there.

Most of my collection comes from Nashville, Chattanooga, and Birmingham, the three places I’ve called home. I’ve picked up coasters in San Diego, Scottsdale, New York, Las Vegas, London, and Edinburgh.
